Genetics / Heritage by kapieren Genetics / Heritage by kapieren

There's a situation that motivated this piece, but it seems though the ignorant conservative who I was debating with deleted portions of their conversation that pertained to it.You know, 'cause they were so right and all.

In short this piece is to cover several things they tried to exploit in proving their point:

1. Just because you're of a specific race or part of said race, it doesn't mean your opinion is inherently valid based on your race alone. I go in more depth here: bit.ly/1eXByoS

2. Being an eight or whatever of __ race doesn't mean you're that race.... sorry.

I thoroughly agree with this; my friend, an aboriginal girl is really pissed about people with that idea because people who are like eight Aborigine take full advantage of the free education and food stamps; my aunt took in two foster children who are legally Aborigine but are whiter than me, a girl of Italian decent. They have blonde hair, sun kissed skin and the boy has blue eyes

Which part of that dot's heritage did he/she get that brownish smudge on the top right corner? My guesses are either it's recessive trait or...a mutation! (dun dun DUN)
I liked this little presentation :)

I know I'm mostly Italian, followed by hints of German, Irish, Scottish, French, and English. As far as percentages go, I haven't really bothered to figure it out. Which is funny, because I absolutely love genetics and whatnot... just not about myself...

Just out of curiosity, what exactly were you arguing with that person over?

This is why I was asking her how much Cherokee she was.

She responded to everything else BUT this, ironically. :B

Also love how she speaks for all of the Cherokee Indians, as though she knows every single individual isn't offended.

It didn't start off as an argument until they bought my mental disorders into it. The original discussion had to do with Native Americans being offended about sports mascots.

I find it hard to understand why anybody would decide to get offended over that. It's sticks and stones the way I see it.

And my great great grandmother was NA...
